It had been an eventful Saturday at Katherine's house, considering she and Blip had only been awake for a whole two hours. But, already she had managed to do all that morning stuff that every human does, and she and Blip were parked in front of the TV for their favorite show, that coincidentally only came on twice a week.

"Hey, Katherine?" To add to the unusually staggering drama, Susan had appeared on scene. "Katherine, can I talk to you for a mome- Hey, Mystery Science Theater 3000!" Susan sat down with the rest of them, enthralled in the twisted comments.

A minute later, a boy poked his head in the room. He looked about the same age as Susan and Katherine, and, oddly enough, had the same green eyes and blond hair as Susan. Well, not exactly the same, but you get my drift.

"Er, Su'?" he said.

Susan was ripped from the world of 'bot riffing for a moment. "Oh, right. Katherine, this is my cousin Eric, you remember him?"

Katherine sneered. "How on Earth do you forget the biggest naven you ever met?"

"Hey," Eric argued, stepping all the way in the room, "I don't like you either, Straightlace."

"Slacker!"

"Straightla- Hey, what on Earth is that?" Eric pointed to the TV.

"A show," Katherine answered point blank, just to annoy Eric.

"Mystery Science Theater 3000," replied Susan, "this guy and two robots sit in a theater and make fun of a movie."

"Oh, well, it would make sense that *you'd* like a show with robots in it," Eric poked Katherine in the shoulder.

"Hey! Crow's off-color comments are an inspiration to us all!" hissed Blip.

"Anyway," Susan began, interrupting the argument, "turns out Eric here knows something about Jack's death."

"Oh, really?" Katherine turned around to Eric. "Do tell."

And so he did. And guess who gets to hear all about it?

-----

Eric was riding on his bike. It was a beautiful day, sun was shining, breeze, ect. Ms. Riggs, Katherine's mom, had just gotten the mail and was going inside. Eric was just riding along until he saw ... Wolf? Wolf seemed to be chasing something that seemed purple. Eric wasn't totally surprised, I mean, after all, he *was* riding past Katherine's house. Katherine had probably just gotten a little "off balance" and painted the next-door neighbor's dog purple.

It was a shock to him, however, when the purple thing (Dog? Teletubby? Giant mutant grape?) ran out in front of his bike. He honked his bike horn, and swerved away, but the thing was pulled under the back tire of the bike. Wolf barked, backing away from the mess. There was a loud 'thud', and Eric felt a bump. Looking back, it looked like he just killed something or another. Not wanting to stick around and find out, he rode off.

"Eric?" Katherine slowly replied to his story, "Do you know what that was?"

"A narn?"

"Norn," Susan whispered to Eric, trying to help.

"Norn," corrected Katherine. "But more importantly, do you know what it was a part of?"

"A children's television show from England in which four animals have whimsical adventures and speak in loose baby language?"

"It was part of my EXPERIMENT!" Katherine shouted, "E-X-P-E-R...-M-A-N-T!"

"M-E-N-T," Susan whispered back to Katherine. Poor soul, she was just trying to help.

Katherine glanced toward the TV and smiled. "When we mess with my experiments, we get what Mystery Science Theater fans probably call a 'deep hurting'. But first, Susan?"

"Yes?"

"Push the button, Susan."

Susan paused for a moment, laughed in remembrance of TV's Frank, and turned the TV off.
