Katherine was sitting in Language Arts, trying to take a spelling test. It was very quiet in the room and all, as everyone else was trying to take one too. It may seem like Katherine's a fairly intelligent person, but she can't spell worth a turd (She can't spell turd either, she always wrote "turde"). That's why I keep saying "trying to take" a spelling test. In fact, Katherine's paper was even labeled "Speling Test".

The door to the room creaked a little. The teacher looked up, but not seeing anyone or anything important enter, she thought nothing of it. She called out the next word.

As Katherine wrote the last word down ("malishous"), she felt something bump up against her leg. She passed her paper up, and, in the cover of ruffling papers being passed up, she peeked under her desk.

Jenna?

Only about a million thoughts ran through her head. I'd tell you the most predominant one, but it involves swearing, so I'll lay off. "What in the world -- " Katherine snarled quietly.

"Hi!" Poor Jenna, she was totally clueless.

"Why - what - who?" stuttered Katherine. Jenna just sort of stared for a moment as the bell rang. "OK, look. Stay close to me, or else." Katherine got up, and, Jenna close behind, sped off.

Susan was trying to catch up with Eric in the hall. Just as she did, she and Eric were both pulled into the janitor's closet.

"What the heck?!" Susan brushed herself off, and looked around. There was Katherine and Jenna.

Katherine held Jenna almost by the nape of the neck. "Guess who followed me to school today?"

"Ooo! Is that a narn?" asked Eric.

"NORN!" everyone else loudly corrected.

"Who else came with you?" questioned Susan.

"Just ... everyone. Say, what's so horrible about us being here?" Jenna insisted.

"Well, first off, I can feel a trip to the asylum for me," Katherine began, "but they'd probably take you guys into a lab for all sorts of nasty tests."

"So?"

"WORSE than mine."

"Oh. Oh! Shee, get us out of here!"

Katherine set Jenna on her lap and put her hands on her shoulders. "Hey - hey, calm down, OK?"

"Well," Susan started, "how on Earth are we gonna get them out and safe?"

"What about Mr. Riggs?" Eric asked.

"For once, Slacker, you got something right. We'll have to get these norns to dad somehow," figured Katherine.

They did a royal good job of confusing Jenna. "Your dad? Isn't he ... uhm ... not here?"

"He's a science teacher here," replied Susan. "Didn't you ever wonder where Katherine gets all those parts for her lab?"

"They're old worn out things from the science stockroom and such," Katherine explained. "Blip alone is made from a *really* old Tangy, and the HoloDeck was made from an old 8 - meg IBM they threw out when they upgraded the computer lab. But, anyway, I guess we just collect them up and get them over to Dad's room during lunch or something."

"Your dad knows about the norns?" Eric was rather amazed.

"After the asylum deal, I'm pretty sure he would."

"Oh well. We gotta get moving, the bell's gonna ring."

On that cue, they all piled out of the closet.

Katherine slunk into Math class. Careful that Jenna was behind her, she made her way up to her desk. As she looked up to Ms. Gulrie's (the Math teacher) desk, she saw ... Kass sitting on Ms. Gulrie's computer? Talking to her?

Katherine took it upon herself to have a minor spasm before rushing up there. "What's going on here?"

"Oh, 'Morning Katherine!" Ms. Gulrie greeted. "'Love your invention, here. I love the game Creatures!"

"Uh huh!" Kass smiled. "We've been talking all about it."

"Glad I'm not in deadly amounts of trouble here. There's six more, and they're sorta loose all over .. I have one with me .. here, come here, Jenna. See?"

"Oh, she's neat too!" Ms. Gulrie cooed. "Was it your idea to bring an old one here?"

"Oh, well, *thanks*." Jenna mock smiled.

"Say..." Katherine slowly began, "Can you help me out? Can we take the norns over here when and if we find them?"

"Oh, and then I get them over to your dad's room? I can do that!"

The bell rang, and Katherine scurried to her seat. Ms. Gulrie shooed the norns under her desk, and began class.
