Eric stood outside with the creatures and Blip. It was a pitch black night, not a star in the sky. This made Cinderella Castle stick out like a sore thumb.

"So, you died here last year?" Eric asked Blip.

"Not *died*, exploded," he corrected. "I can't die, I'm a robot."

"So, you exploded here last year?"

"You catch on quick, don't you?"

"You know it."

Blip sighed best he could and turned around to the rest of the norns. "Okay, Katherine's directions were this: Eric and Karr are to go rescue the grendel doll, and me and Jenna go up and try to stop Tinkerbell. Everyone else is supposed to stick around here, and wait for everyone to get back. Ready?"

Blip tried to hover off, but Eric grabbed him by the hover skirt. "Wait -- do you remember Katherine's last direction?"

"Yes, I do. Be much more careful then last time."

"Right oh. Let's move."

Remember how we did this last time? We're doin' it again.

Eric lifted Karr over the gate, then followed suit. However, Eric didn't account for the fact that over the gate, there was a drop that ended in shrubbery. Both boys ended up rather leafy.

"Smooth," Karr joked. "Now what?"

"I guess we go get that doll," guessed Eric. He shinnied out of the bushes.

"Wait! Eric --" Karr was either not heard or totally ignored by Eric as he inched closer to the base that Jasper and the Wolfpac had made. Katherine was woefully absent, but Eric could still see the fire rocket. Ooching closer, he discovered ...

... the grendel doll was also woefully absent.

Oops. Biiiiig oops.

Eric took a frantic look around. Wasn't it supposed to be there? Maybe it was somewhere else? As he was looking, he accidentally turned around and found Jasper.

"Kid? What are you doing here?" he hissed, looking Eric dead in the eye.

I'm telling you what, Eric might be as dense as a rock, he might not be everyone's favorite person, but that boy comes through under pressure. "Uh ... uh ... Cyberlife?" he stuttered. "Toby? Grendel?"

"Hey ... you're one of those no good kids, aren't you?"

"Kids? Uh?" Eric tried to reason through the whole situation. Finally, he just turned and ran. Jasper dashed after him, in hot pursuit.

Finally, poor scared Eric turned around, stopped dead in his tracks, and pointed back. "What's that guy doing with a match?" he managed to choke out.

Jasper whizzed around. "Match!?" When he looked, everything was just fine. Turning back around, he discovered Eric was woefully absent.

In fact, Eric had dived into the bushes, and was now panting like a dog.

"Uh, Eric?" Karr pointed beside him. The bushes rustled a little, then Katherine, dressed as Kal, came out.

"I already got the doll, you goober," she teased. "See?" Out of pure spite, she took the doll and wiggled it in Eric's face.

"What?! Then why did I have to go out there at all?"

"I like to see you sweat, quite frankly. Now, get Karr on your shoulders, we're moving out."

"Am I going the right way? It's hard to see."

"You're doing fine."

Blip was taking Jenna up to the Castle top, to stop Tinkerbell once again.

"Blip, do you remember Katherine's directions?" Jenna warned.

"Why does everyone keep asking me that? How simple were they, anyway? Don't destroy myself unless absolutely necessary. I can handle this."

They rode the rest of the way in silence. When they got there, there was a new sight that no one really expected: Susan was suited up as Tinkerbell.

"What in -- ?" Jenna hopped off Blip and circled Susan.

"I didn't have a chance to see you today," Susan explained. "'Turns out, they're taking guest Tinkerbell, and I volunteered."

"You can't jump tonight, though! Jasper and his gang is at it again," pleaded Blip.

"Really? Oh, poot." Susan peeked over the edge, then began to struggle out of her harness. "I'll just get out of this, and --"

I don't think Susan meant to take that last step back. Jenna nearly passed out and Blip would have passed out if he could when Susan, almost completely harnessed in, fell off and began gliding backwards to the ground below.

For some reason, the conversation with Katherine back at the hotel room ran through Jenna's mind right then.

She wasn't supposed to be alive at all.

Jenna mounted Blip. "Take me down there."

"What?"

"You heard me. Take me down there."

"But you'll --"

"Susan's life is ON THE LINE. TAKE me DOWN there."

Blip, quite stunned, began to glide down to the rather desperate Susan. Down, farther, farther, farther ... finally ...

Jenna readied herself. "Blip," she began, quietly, "tell Karr I love him."

-----

Down below, Karr was fiddling with the grendel doll. He noticed Lydia nearby, and wordlessly gave it to her.

"Hey, Straightlace," Eric called. "Lookie out there!" He pointed out to the sky.

"Oh, *poop*," gasped Katherine as she turned to the scene. "Everyone get over here! Now!"

All the small creatures gathered around the railing to watch the event. You could see a yellow blotch against the sky, with a paler, cream blotch above it, coming close to Tinkerbell as the two blue fire rockets shot up, just like last year. The cream colored blotch (Jenna) jumped off of the yellow one (Blip), and landed right in the fire works, stopping them and her.
